Professional Loft Insulation

If your house feels chilly in the winter or too warm in the summer, it might be due to your loft. Without loft insulation, heat escapes through the roof and your home becomes harder and more expensive to run.

We offer loft insulation services based on what your space actually needs, whether that’s starting fresh or topping up what’s already there. We’ll take a look, recommend the right setup, and get it installed properly.

What is loft insulation?

Loft insulation is the material laid across your loft floor to slow down heat escaping through the roof. It sits between and over the joists, helping your home hold onto warmth.

In a lot of homes, especially older ones, the insulation already in place is too thin, patchy, or flattened over time. When that happens, it’s not doing much.

Common types of insulation include:

  • Mineral wool (the most widely used option)
  • Rigid insulation boards
  • Eco-friendly options like sheep wool

If you’re not sure what’s currently in your loft, we’ll check it and let you know what needs topping up or replacing.

Why should you insulate your loft?

Once your loft insulation is set up, you’ll notice the difference in how your home feels day to day.

Types of properties we work with

At Loft Leaders, we understand that every loft is different, so we customize our loft boarding to fit your home and how you plan to use the space.

Regardless of the type of property, our goal is to ensure that your loft is safe, practical, and durable.

Recommended loft insulation depth

In the UK, the recommended depth for loft insulation is around 270mm for best results. A lot of older homes fall short of this, which means more heat escaping than there should be.

Getting the depth right makes a noticeable difference. Too little insulation won’t do the job properly, and uneven coverage can leave gaps.

We’ll check what’s already in place and top it up where needed to bring it up to standard.

Loft insulation types & options

We offer a range of loft insulation options depending on what your home needs. Whether you’re starting from scratch or improving what’s already there, we’ll recommend the right approach based on your loft and how it’s currently set up.

Mineral Wool Insulation
This is the most common option for lofts. It’s laid between and over joists to build up to the recommended depth and is a reliable, cost-effective way to improve energy efficiency.

Insulation Top-Ups
If your existing insulation is too thin or uneven, we can add to it to bring it up to current standards without starting from scratch.

Insulation Removal & Replacement
If the existing insulation is damaged, compressed, or no longer effective, we can remove it and install new insulation that performs well.

We use high-quality insulation that performs well and keeps dust to a minimum during installation. It’s also fire-resistant, made with recycled materials, and built to last without needing any maintenance.

If you’re not sure what your loft needs, we’ll take a look and talk you through the best option.

Cost of loft insulation

When it comes to fitting insulation, the price will vary based on its size and how much insulation you need.

Things that affect the price include the layout of your loft, what’s already there, how much needs adding, and how easy it is to access.

We’ll check your loft and provide a clear quote, so there are no surprises.
